Outdoor spaces are both for gathering and for escaping. Add beauty and define your outdoor spaces with pavers!
A paver is a common term for an outdoor stone that can be made of a variety of materials. These materials can be natural stone, slate, brick, quarry tile, porcelain and most recently, sintered stone. They can vary vastly in size and are available in assorted colors, textures, and patterns. Pavers offer benefits, by creating a hard level surface, and can define an outdoor living space, while creating visual interest.
Porcelain Pavers
Tile has evolved in size and format, but also in finishing technologies to allow for slip-resistance and UV-resistance. The same properties that make porcelain ideal inside the home are beneficial outside too. Porcelain pavers are non-porous and impervious to water. Porcelain is frost resistant and unlikely to be damaged by freezing as well as thermal shock unlike most concrete alternatives. They are also highly resistant to scratches, stains, and discoloration unlike concrete pavers, and can come with textured surfaces to provide better slip resistance in wet conditions.
Sintered stone is the new kid on the block. This engineered stone is made by using extreme pressure and heat on a mix of minerals and other materials to create solid stone. It can be applied indoors and outdoors, and is a silica-free alternative to quartz.
